Event Overview

Our youth lacrosse program is built with one clear goal: grow the game.

At the core of our model is a two atep approach that begins with a strong local season played under Olympic-lacrosse (6v6) rules and concludes with regional travel to learn college lacrosse (10v10) rules. These rules are designed to emphasize skill development, ball movement, and team play. This format is ideal for teaching the game the right way while keeping it fast, fun, and accessible for new and returning players alike.

We use the Olympic rules to focus on building true community-based teams by drawing players from Dubuque, Platteville, Galena, and the Western Dubuque area - creating local rosters where athletes play alongside classmates, friends, and future high school teammates. This regional approach allows us to grow regional participation while maintaining a strong hometown identity and keeping travel reasonable for families. This portion of the season will run from the beginning of March until mid-April.

Once the local season concludes, players who are ready for more competition can seamlessly transition into a combined regional team. Our regional travel season uses college-style rules and introduces athletes to a higher level of play against other regional programs from around the state. This portion of the season will run from mid-April to the first week of June. And no need to decide right now whether to join the regional travel team, players can opt in at any point during the season. Together, this two-prong structure provides a natural development pathway: no forced travel, no pressure - just opportunity when athletes are ready.

As we continue growing, we are building out the following pathway teams:

Boys: 10U (local only), 12U, Middle School
Girls: 10U (local only), 12U (local only), Middle School (local only), High School

Families can choose local-only participation, regional-only, or take advantage of both seasons all under the same registration. This flexible model allows multi-sport athletes to grow at their own pace while still offering a clear ladder for those who want to compete at the next level.

By strengthening local teams and then expanding outward, we’re building something sustainable - a program that develops players, strengthens school pipelines, and grows lacrosse across the entire tri-state region the right way.

Practice times will be released soon. To find more details, visit our full program website.
