Event Overview
Welcome to the Century Jags Youth Lacrosse where we serve the youth that feed into Century High School and Hillsboro High School.
Practices will be held two to three days a week typically 1.5 to 2 hours long with at least one game and occassionally two games on Saturdays. Younger players practice times might be shorter. Games usually start the first Saturday in April.
FEES
Registration for K-4 is $50.00, plus a mandatory $50 fundraising fee and a $35 USA Lacrosse membership fee. Total of $135.00
Registration for 5/6 and 7/8 is $150, plus a mandatory $50 fundraising fee and a $35 USA Lacrosse membership fee. Total of $235
The fundrasising item is a bag of Tillamook meatsticks to be sold at your leisure.
COACHING
We need parent coaches, please register and complete the necessary courses and background checks. The fee to become a coach is $60 which goes directly to USA Lacrosse. This fee can be reimbursed by the club if needed. If you don't have any lacrosse experience that's okay there are many resources available to help you become successful, trust me you won't be alone.
GEAR
Players are responsible for obtaining their own gear, we do have a few sets of gear that has been handed down over the years that you can use for the season however there is no guarentee that we will have what you need in your size.
REQUIRED GEAR for all ages is helmet, chest pads, gloves, arm guards, stick, cleats, cup and mouth piece. When buying used gear it is important that the helmet and the chest pads have the NOCSAE and/or ND200 logo on them. Sadly, some online retailers might still have some new gear for sale at a discounted price that do not have the appropriate safety rating. This is mainly due to a change to certain equipment safety ratings several years ago.
We provide the goalie gear for all ages as well as the long poles for 7/8.
Places to find used gear would be at Facebook Markeplace, Craigslist, Play It Again Sports, Goodwill and SidelineSwap.
Places to buy new gear will be at Dicks Sporting Goods or Lacrosse Hub NW in Tualatin.
Online Retailers that sell great starter sets are; SportStop, Lacrosse Monkey, Lacrosse Unlimited, Lax.com, Universal Lacrosse
For team communication we use SportsYou as an app, please download this app and you will be provided a code to join your respective team prior to the season starting.
