EQUIPMENT
The EBLL places a premium on player safety and mitigating the risk of injury. The EBLL is a USA Lacrosse sanctioned league that plays under USA Box Lacrosse Rules. USA box lacrosse requires additional rib and bicep padding.
All players will have a visual inspection before their contest to ensure they have the required protective equipment required for box play. Any player observed without the required equipment will not be allowed to participate in the contest
USA Box Lacrosse Rule 76.5 - Penalty for Illegal or Missing Equipment: The referee, at their discretion, may assess up to a match penalty if, in their judgment, a player is wearing a piece of illegal equipment or is missing equipment.
This includes RIB PADS, BICEP PADS and MOUTHGUARD. Best to wear jerseys with sleeves to keep bicep pads in tact. If players are found to not be wearing any of the required equipment they will be removed from the game and a 2-minute penalty is enforced to the team. If they re-enter game again without proper equipment it will be a match penalty (ejection).
