STOP - NO BOARDING!
STAY OFF THE BACK
Please review the safety video from youth hockey that is obviously applicable to box lacrosse in the same manner.
- BOARDING - A player hit from behind, into the boards, is a an extremely dangerous play. At minimum, this will result in a 5-minute “major” penalty. If the hit is deemed reckless or severe, officials may issue a match penalty, which results in a player ejection.
- Any hit from behind is not legal!!!
Canadian box lacrosse leagues require junior players have a stop sign patch on the back of each jersey as a visual reminder to NOT hit from behind. Highly recommended that if able, you acquire and place this patch on your jersey. These patches are available on Amazon.
