Nerissa Schmitter

Desert Dragonfly's Girl Coach (Ages 8u-14u) & President of the club

Coach Nerissa is the head coach for the Desert Dragonfly's Girl teams (Ages 8u-14u) and is the President of the Vail -Tucson Desert Dragons Lacrosse Club. She played for 2 seasons of high school lacrosse at Bowie High School in Maryland as a midfield/center player. She loves lacrosse and is bringing it to Vail to grow the sport in the community. "I absolutely love coaching because it's such a joy to share my passion for lacrosse with the next generation! Playing this sport with girls is especially rewarding; they're fierce competitors on the field, and I know they have the determination to conquer any challenge that comes their way!"

Nik Schmitter

Desert Dragons Youth and Boys Coach (8u-14u)

Coach Nik is the a coach for the Desert Dragons team (Ages 8u-14u) and the youth team (8U). He started his lacrosse journey in 1990 where he played as an attackman, midfielder, and a goalie. He would continue to play until 2005. Why I like to coach: "Growing the sport I enjoy and develop our youth into living a healthy fun lifestyle."

Coach Dustin

Desert Dragons Youth and Boys Coach (8u-14u)

Coach Dustin is a coach for the Desert Dragons Boys Lacrosse Team. He started playing back in 2009 where he was introduced to lacrosse by his stepbrothers and played on the varsity team for the Tucson Sabino Sabercats Lacrosse Club under Head Coach Chuck Rullen. He played as a Defenseman but decided to try LSM and I found my calling. He played on Arizona travel teams, such as Hot Sauce Lacrosse and 520 Academy. He also attended the Rhino Lacrosse Training Camp where he learned and trained with professional lacrosse players like Ryan Powell and several D1 college Lacrosse players from Oklahoma, Syracuse, and John Hopkins. In 2021, he decided he wanted to give back to lacrosse and got an opportunity to be an assistant coach for Salpointe's men's lacrosse team. After 2 years of assistant coaching, he became the head coach for the Salpointe men's lacrosse Program. He is now helping grow the sport of lacrosse in Vail and is one of the coaches for the program.

Tim Langdon

Desert Dragons Boys Coach (8u-14u)

Coach Tim played for 11 years box lacrosse for the Edmonton Warriors lacrosse club from 1989 -2000 and played 1 year of field lacrosse in 9th grade team that he and his box team mates formed and made for their Jr. high school. "What I love about coaching is being able to pass and share my love of lacrosse on to the younger generation".
