Youth Lacrosse League Season Details
Missoula Wild has both a boys program and a girls program for athletes aged 5th through 8th grade. Our 5th through 8th grade boys and girls teams compete across the state of Montana in the Montana Youth Lacrosse Association.
Games approximatly begin mid April and continue through the first week of June. Games are usually played on Satursdays, any tournament that the teams participate in will be played Saturday and Sunday. Games may be played in Great Falls, Kalispell, Helena, Missoula, Bozeman, Billings, and Spokane. Further details regarding the game schedule will be provided in mid March.
Missoula WILD wants all interested players to play lacrosse! If your family needs financial assistance to cover the cost of registration, please look into our scholarship program.
Please note, all athletes will be required to register with USA Lacrosse ($35) while registering with the Missoula WILD. Registration information provided here.
Practice and Skill Development
The 5th/6th grade boys and 4th/5th/6th grade girls teams will practice Tuesdays and Thursdays with an optional practice on Mondays that will be at the coaches discretion. All practices at Playfair Park.
The 7th/8th grade teams will practice Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at Playfair Park.
Practices will focus on core skills – with goals and drills specified for each age group. In addition, practice will teach team and game dynamics and specific player and position development.
Gear
All programs will be required to wear all sanctioned gear. Missoula WILD is able to lend sticks to players for the season, we also have a cleat exchange.
Gear needed for boys lacrosse: Helmet, Stick, Chest and Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Gloves, Mouthguard, Athletic Cup, and Cleats.
